Hello, and welcome!

My name is Debbie, however, most of my friends call me DJ so please feel free to call me that too.

I am very delighted that you have arrived. I am Registered Holistic Nutritionist and I love what I do. I am passionate about whole foods and I believe in a natural approach to healthy eating and living.

What Is A Natural Approach To Healthy Eating & Does It Really Matter?

This is a question that I am asked often. My friends ask me… “DJ, can’t I just eat healthy some of the time? Does it really matter?”

In 2003 my mother died of Breast cancer, a battle that she fought courageously for 11 years, despite doctors saying she wouldn’t last more than two years after diagnosis.

Sixteen months after the passing of my mother (to whom I loved dearly), my father died of lung cancer. He passed away a month after being diagnosed. There are no words to explain that part of my life. Devastation is an understatement.

It has been said that transformation comes from a place of pain. It causes us to wake up. This is true for me. When both my parents passed away from cancer, I innately knew that I had no option but to be healthy and live healthy.

I choose to take the passing of my parents as a learning and growing experience.

What good can come from this tremendous loss? What is my purpose? Why I am on this planet? These were questions that I constantly asked myself…

What Do I Believe About Food, Healthy & Your Happiness?

First and foremost, let’s clarify what I don’t believe in. I do not believe in judging people. I do not believe in labeling people. I do NOT believe in preaching to people.

I am NOT one of those nutritionists who will shame you for not baking your own bread from scratch or guilt you because you don’t buy organic fruits and vegetables.

I am to be YOUR SUPPORTOR and your advocate. I am your whole foods guide and will teach you how to make delicious healthy versions of the recipes you love.

I believe that you have good intentions whenever you’ve attempted to improve your health.

I bet today you woke up thinking, “today is the day that I am going to eat healthy all day… I will not be seduced by treats at the office.”

Yet you skip breakfast (mistake number one). By mid-morning you are starving. Your co-worker offers you her high-fiber chocolate coated granola bar and you devour it whole thinking its high fiber, it can’t be so bad.

I believe in living by example. I am a busy mom with two kids. What works for one person and makes one person feel good, may not necessarily work for another person. This is why you work with me… so I can custom tailor the exact right nutrition plan for you.

I don’t want any child to feel that pain that I felt when my parents died way, way before their time.

I understand how difficult it is to find time to make healthy meals for you and your family. BUT together we will find time and I will provide you with tools so that you can cook your own meals and eat REAL FOOD.
